The cottontail rabbit is one of the target animals for Shake Away's top-selling product, fox urine pellets (also ideal for deterring woodchucks and opossums). This product leverages the predator-prey relationship and the genetically programmed fear instinct of prey animals to provide a non-toxic, organic method for reducing and often eliminating pest browsing problems. The red fox is the most common terrestrial predator of cottontail rabbits throughout their range. Rabbits avoid fox core areas when configuring their feeding and rearing patterns. Shake Away provides an incredibly easy way to apply time-released urine-impregnated pellets in a manner that simulates this core area. These pellets are composed of a porous, swellable, inorganic mineral that is impervious to weather, especially rain.
