A strigel is used to maintain and create the absolute sharpness of the blade's edge. The stripper is easy to use and if used every day/time the knife has been used, the sharpness is maintained longer, and it does not have to grind the knife as often with other coarse grinding tools such as diamond whets. You use the trigle by laying the knife edge against the leather and pulling the knife in the knife back direction (from the blade). Repeat the procedure about 20 times on each side. One side has a rough surface and one side is finer. On the coarser side you can apply sanding paste to increase sanding effect. Casstrm strigers are handmade from Italian vegetable tanned 3.5 mm thick leather and have a core of European waxed oak. The paddle trigle has a larger area to work on and is perfect at home or in the base camp.Weight: 200 g. Dim: approx. 28x4.5x3cm incl. handle.
