As with the derailleur, the gearbox also takes advantage of many developments made for the 12-speed mechanical predecessor. The same 45 trajectory angle corresponds to a new displacement that electronically improves the specific chain winding for each single sprocket. Better power transfer and reduced wear of transmission consumer components are just two of the advantages of positioning the new gearbox over the sprocket pack. Compatible with the two 11-29 and 11-32 cassettes, the two wheels adopt the 12-tooth design and the 72.5 mm gear bar ensures perfect functionality. The thinnest and more durable structure of the barbell allowed more space between the gearbox and the spokes, making it easier to adjust. Moving the chain to the 12 sprockets of the cassette is a task that requires greater precision considering increasing sprockets in the same spacing. The firmware not only handles this task with efficiency and speed, but the front and rear actuators fulfill their task using the most powerful engines available on the market. Built with materials such as aluminum, ultra-light technopolymer and long fiber carbon, the EPS gearbox is built to meet the Campagnolo standard in terms of extreme durability, precision and reliability, while weighing only 234g.
